A queer-owned electronic music label based in Albany, NY — the 518 and beyond.
The Sound Den started with a first solo EP and a question: what if there were a label that put queer artists and queer community at the center? We’re that label. Based in Albany, NY, we curate and release music from unsigned and underrepresented queer artists. We’re here to amplify sound with purpose—and 5% of our profits goes to programs that help queer individuals and create queer-inclusive spaces. Everyone belongs here.
We’re not here to be the biggest. We’re here to be real. Electronic music has room for everyone, but too often queer artists and fans have had to search for a place that felt like home. The Den is that place: a label built by someone who walked the path from artist to founder, who knows what it’s like to want your sound and your identity in the same room. Albany—518—is our base, but our community stretches far beyond. If you’ve been looking for a label that sees you, or for music that speaks to your world, you’re in the right spot.
What We Do
We release music. We support artists at every step—from first demos to finished releases—and we celebrate diversity in sound and in community. Whether you’re an artist looking for a home or a listener looking for something real, we’re in your corner.
We don’t just put out tracks and move on. We build relationships. We encourage. We inspire. We show up. That means listening to what our artists need, staying in the conversation with our community, and putting our money where our mission is: 5% of profits goes back to programs that help queer individuals and create queer-inclusive spaces. It’s a small number with a big meaning—we’re committed for the long run.
